How the Swimming Pool Maintenance Process Works:
B&L Pools offers a full range of automatic pool cleaners, pool filters, and swimming pool supplies to help you keep your pool clean and pool maintenance to a minimum.
Your Swimming Pool and the Automatic Pool Cleaner:

Your swimming pool is a closed loop water system. Most pools have three sets of filters; one, a basket on your pool skimmer as the water leaves the swimming pool and is pulled back to the pool filter, a second basket filter just before your filter, the third filter is the larger swimming pool filter. It's a good idea to check both your pool baskets at least once a week, more if it is windy or if there have been storms.
There are many brands of suction swimming pool cleaners and they all work in much the same way. Brands include Kreepy Krauly, Zodiac, Hayward and Sta-Rite. The Hayward Navigator is an excellent swimming pool cleaner, along with the Baracuda G3. Suction cleaners attach either to a vacuum point on the wall of your pool, or directly into the skimmer. They will climb the walls, if the wall to floor joint is rounded off. They suck all the leaves, debris and dust back to your filter, bigger debris will be trapped in the strainer basket of your pump. You normally leave it running for 4 to 6 hours per day.
Pressure based automatic pool cleaners connect to the inlet of your pool and are powered by the water returning to your pool from your booster pump. The water flow makes the wheels rotate and it jets water into it's collecting bag. Leaves and debris get caught up in the jet and trapped in the bag. You normally leave it running for 4 to 6 hours. Meanwhile, the skimmers are working normally. Fine dust is blown up into the water for the filter to catch.

Checking Swimming Pool Chemicals:
For most swimming pools a simple weekly water test will do the trick. B&L Pools offers a variety of simple swimming pool testing kits. Pool acid level and chlorine levels can be tested in minutes. Also, by taking a water sample weekly to your local B&L Pool store, you can get a free water test that can save you from lots of trouble.
Swimming Pool Filter Maintenance:
Over time your swimming pool filter water pressure will go up. Most pool filters have a recommended high level. When your pool filter reaches this pressure, it is time to back-flush the filter, or clean the filter. This tends to be a once a month job on most swimming pools. This is a job that you may want to have one of B&Ls Pool maintenance professionals do.
Other swimming pool maintenance tips:
Occasional swimming pool skimming and pool vacuuming after a major storm usually keeps your swimming pool in top condition. Taking your water to have it professionally tested can help save you lots of time and money.
